Gabe has to be one of the most consistent dudes out there right now. His ability to crank out good content is no joke. Enjoy this quick part he put out as well as the skating in his review / wear test that Tactics just put out for a new Converse shoe style!
We had the good fortune to link up with Y.G.B Portland and help host an event with Deadstock Coffee and KMHD's Beat Parlor. It started off with a party at Dig-A-Pony with live performances by Wine and Coffee, Survival Skills, Amenta Abioto, and The Present Elders. After making some friends we made our way to an epic house party where the live performances and DJ sets continued. This is how to have a good time.
The party continued at Dig-A-Pony but the house party was calling our name. Alden Elias, who helps us with video projects, linked up and came out with everyone to North Portland to check out the next chapter of the evening. We crammed far too many people in a Lyft ride but the driver was cool with it. She ended up hooking everyone up with candy and glow sticks / bracelets. Come to think of it, while cool, that was sort of sketchy.
Anthony somehow busted out the voice memos on his iPhone and got countless individuals at the party to freestyle. Well worth the hangover.
We also want to bring attention to Deadstock Coffee which is easily the most unique coffee shop in Portland, Oregon. Ian Williams, founder of Deadstock Coffee, has a fascinating history and has brought sneakers and hip-hop into the world of coffee shop life.
We swung through Deadstock and to our surprise, 96.3fm, Portland's premier modern Hip-Hop station, was in the mix doing an interview with Ian. We were able to sample of the new coffee blend that Ian is now roasting himself, first impressions... delicious; coffee the way it should be, bold, strong, but smooth.
We're pleased to announce that this is where it all starts for Quartet Skateboards. A new brand with a nostalgic concept. Hopefully, we'll be able to remind skateboarders why we all started doing this in the first place. Hopefully, we'll be able to make content that people remember. And hopefully, you like what we got going on. We'll see you out there...
